NOTEPACE DESKTOP 8.0 — VERIFIED RELEASE
==========================
Windows 10/11 x64. Google Chrome required. No Node.js or compilation needed.

UPDATING FROM DESKTOP 6.5
1. Exit the old app using its notification-area tray menu: Exit NotePace.
Clicking the toolbar X only hides the app.
2. Extract NotePace_Desktop_v8.0_VERIFIED_WINDOWS.zip to a NEW permanent folder.
Keep your old 6.5 folder as a fallback. Do not run from inside the ZIP.
3. Open NotePace_Desktop_8.0_VERIFIED and double-click NotePace.exe.
4. The Desktop shortcut is refreshed to this new location.
5. Sign in to eCW normally in the Chrome window the app opens. Existing
settings and the dedicated Chrome profile remain in their original locations.
6. Disable the NotePace Chrome extension in this dedicated profile if installed;
do not run the desktop app and extension on the same eCW tab.

NEW IN 8.0
- PLAN + FINISH opens “Select Sunoh assessments” inside the eCW browser page.
- All available assessments start selected. Uncheck unwanted entries and choose
“Continue · Plan + Finish”, or Cancel without starting the workflow.
- Unchecked assessments and their linked Plan actions are skipped in this run.
Similar diagnosis names remain separate entries. Existing eCW content is not removed.
- Desktop status shows “Assessments accepted: 1”, then “Assessments complete”.
- Move to Dx keeps count-of-total progress, followed by the existing finish sequence.
- Exact verified Chrome 8.0 engine files, including refreshed-record matching fixes.

PRESERVED
HPI, assessment scrolling, required-field warnings and Retry Done, chart reset,
click counter, diagnostics, date-specific note locking, 30/90-day history scans,
optional Account & Sync, and optional Secure End-of-Day. Compact desktop layout,
tray controls, automatic shortcut, dedicated Chrome profile and local encrypted
sync credentials retain the Windows 6.5 implementation.
Alt+Shift+H: HPI; Alt+Shift+P: Plan + Finish; Alt+Shift+L: Lock notes.
No Previsit Note, patient-card sharing, or dictation features are included.

VERIFY AFTER INSTALLING
1. Confirm the app reports Desktop 8.0 Verified and connects to the correct eCW tab.
2. Run HPI and review the clinical content as usual.
3. Run PLAN + FINISH with all assessments selected. Verify progress and completion.
4. On another suitable chart, uncheck one assessment. Verify that assessment and
its linked Plan action stay out of this transfer while selected items finish.
5. Verify Cancel makes no transfers; check Retry Done if eCW requires fields.
6. Verify chart reset, keyboard shortcuts, locking, history and optional sync.
7. Export PHI-free diagnostics if a workflow stops unexpectedly.

ROLL BACK
Exit the app from its tray, then launch NotePace.exe from your preserved
6.5 folder. Its launch restores the Desktop shortcut to the old folder.

VALIDATION AND LIMITS
Frozen November 1, 2026 after the user reported Desktop 8.0.2 TEST working.
Promoted as Verified Desktop 8.0 with version labels and release documentation
changes only. The launch implementation and verified Chrome 8.0 workflow files
are unchanged. 82 automated checks passed on the tested build using synthetic
content. The unchanged native Windows host is reused from Desktop 6.5; its
Windows file properties may retain 6.5, while NotePace reports Desktop 8.0.

PRIVACY
Assessment labels and chart content are processed locally in eCW. Optional
completion-history sync sends authentication data and dates/aggregate counts,
not patient notes or diagnosis text. The app does not capture microphone audio.
Keep normal organization controls and clinician review in place.

VERIFIED LAUNCH BEHAVIOR
Open eCW now waits for the Chrome connection, reports launch errors, prevents
duplicate clicks, and brings an existing connected eCW window forward.
The verified Chrome 8.0 workflow files are unchanged.

WINDOW VERIFICATION
Open eCW now explicitly creates a browser window if no supported eCW tab
is present, restores/repositions it on the primary screen, activates the tab,
and requires NotePace to attach before reporting success. It does not accept
an empty browser target list as proof that eCW opened.
